How to create Silk Texture in Adobe Photoshop?

In the following step, you will learn how to make Silk textures in Adobe Photoshop.

1. How do you make a new document for patterns?

For creating a document, go to the file menu, select new, where width is 1000 and height 800 pixels, Resolution -72 pixels, color mode -is RGB, and the background content will be white then Press ok.

2. How do you create silk texture?

1. First select, the gradient tool then click on the open gradient picker. Now select the first one which is black and white gradient after that choose linear gradient and here mode will be difference. Now draw a gradient line horizontally on the canvas.

Do same thing 15-20 times on the canvas and the canvas looks like black and white foil paper.

2. Now go to the file menu then select blur and then choose gaussian blur, here set the gaussian blur radius it’s 8.0 pixels then press ok.

3. Go to the layer panel and open the layers lock. Now again go to the filter menu then select stylize now select find edges.

4. Now hit on the image menu select the adjustment option then choose levels. Here set input levels mine is 99-0.28-255 approximately. Here you can set input levels as per your texture. Now press ok.

5. Now again select the filter menu then select blur after that select gaussian blur, now set radius to 5.3 pixels then press ok.

6. Now go to the filter menu then select liquify, here my brush size is 235. Now through the brush give you texture like fabric folded. Then press ok.

Now go to the layer panel and duplicate the layer, again go to the filter menu then select other after that select High pass. Here set the High pass radius it’s 100 pixels then press ok.

Now select mode which is visible in the layer panel, it’s normal to set linear light and set opacity which is visible in the layer panel it’s 50%. Now go to the new fill and adjustment option then select hue and saturation and set color contrast which color you want for the fabric texture.
